Faraday’s leading edge processes represent quantum leaps in Thermal Spray and Hard Surface Technologies replacing the more traditional, but outdated process of spray welding. These processes produce superior bond strengths and performance enhanced surfaces that are readily machined or ground. We offer three unique and advanced technologies Thermal Arc Metallizing (T.A.M), High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) Spay and Fuse which bond metals and alloys to worn or improperly machined parts. The year was about 1970. Two men walked into the office of a new plastics jobber near downtown Rochester, NY carrying a cube-shaped metal frame measuring about four-feet on each side. They asked Matt McConville, the young owner of the shop, if he could create plastic panels to enclose the box to their specifications. When he asked what the device was, the men declined to answer. Puzzled, but always glad for a new customer, Matt and his staff proceeded to give the mysterious prototype their typical full care and attention. The customer was Xerox, and the secret prototype was none other than the Xerox's first color copier: The 6500 (see photo this page). In time Eastman Kodak would also come to appreciate Faro's unique skillset, and for many years the trucks of both corporate giants could be seen coming and going from Faro's production facility on Lyell Avenue near downtown Rochester.

Father & Sons Machine Precision is a family owned and operated business. Our company started on June 6, 1998 in a 800 sq. foot building. USing a small Mill and Engine Lathe we began mainlly with repairs. Over the years, word about the quality of work that we do got around and we no longer fit in our facility. In 2002, we moved into a 3000 sq. ft. building. Being challenged with every new project we continued to grow and now occupy a 6,000 Sqft. building with a full service machine shop. Father and sons Machine shop capabilities range from Trouble shooting, welding, machining, grinding pressing and heat treating. We have never been limited by any new project our customers may bring us. Our goals are to meet the demand and precision of all of our customers and keep our level of work excellent. Mike Conte, our president/owner, started in 1981 when the company was known as Florida Discharge Machine. He became a partner in the company in 1997. With his wife, Cindy, Mike purchased the company and real estate in 2007. Mike works side by side with his daughter, Lisa and son, Michael Jr., making it a family run business. Our goal remains the same today as it did 47 years ago; to provide customers a service for general and special processes at a reasonable rate while providing a unique place of employment for the team that drives its success.
