In 1948, Jim Feeney opened the doors of Feeney® Wire Rope & Rigging in an old soap factory building located on the edge of the San Francisco Bay in Berkeley, California. The post-war San Francisco Bay Area was booming with military, maritime and construction business. Feeney quickly gained a solid reputation as a company that provided quality rigging products and superior service. With hard work, a dedicated staff, and an expanding list of satisfied customers, Feeney soon grew to become one of the leading suppliers of custom rigging and hardware in the region. This position still holds true today. In 1979, Ernest S. Ralston purchased Feeney with an eye toward the future. With an enthusiastic, open-minded approach to business, he, along with other family members and staff, were able to incorporate new ideas and new products into the mix, allowing them to expand into new markets beyond traditional industrial rigging.

Ferguson Engineering Co. was founded in 2011 by Jacob Ferguson. Jacob had an extensive history in the lawn and garden industry where he owned and operated a company called Outdoor Power Inc. He started this company at the age of 19 in 2005. After the first few years the company grew to be quite successful and he was able to attend college. After becoming degreed in engineering and precision machining it was time for the next venture and Ferguson Engineering Co. was born. The company was a job shop in the beginning offering machining and welding to industrial customers. In January of 2016 James Ferguson joined his son Jacob to form the final phase of the company, hydraulics. James has been in the hydraulic industry for over 25 years serving industries such as manufacturing and aerospace. James is Fluid Power Certified and factory trained by hydraulic oem’s. To date, Ferguson Engineering Co. has 11 full time employees providing service in our core competencies: Machining, welding, hydraulics and plant maintenance.
