Modern Plastics started in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in June 1945 (even before “plastic” was a common word), when my grandfather Joseph C. Carbone opened the then, “Modern Glass Company“ – a one-man operation specializing in same-day installation of automobile window glass. A pot-bellied stove generated all the heat that was needed to keep production going through the long, cold New England winters. He worked hard, instilled core values and integrity into the business and his employees. He was a bit of a genius in fact, and I admired him greatly.

Moldmaster Engineering, Inc. is a family owned business founded in 1945. We are proud to be a one-stop manufacturing facility. We specialize in precision, high performance plastic injection molds along with a wide range of modern molding machines to suit the needs of our customers. We design and construct our own tooling in-house using state of the art CAD and CAM software along with efficient, accurate computer controlled machine tools. We build thermoplastic and thermoset injection molds as well as compression and transfer tooling ranging in size from single cavity prototype units to multi-cavity high production molds. We service a broad range of Commercial and Mil-Spec industries. Our injection molding machines range in size from 30 to 300 tons. We specialize in processing engineering grade thermoplastic and thermoset resins. Molding processes include injection, compression, and transfer molding along with gas assist, insert, and over-molding. We also offer a variety of secondary operations that include heat staking, printing, sonic welding, machining, and assembly services all designed to add value to our molded products and to reduce the lead time of finished product to our customers.
