Since 1956, Quality Centerless Grinding Corp. has offered precision Centerless Grinding services on a subcontract basis to a wide variety of area industries including Aircraft, Aerospace, Defense, Hardware, Electronics and Automotive. We have a 7,000 square foot facility in the Middlefield Industrial Park, conveniently located in central Connecticut with easy access to major highways. We have increased our capabilities to (22) #1 centerless grinders, (1) #2 centerless grinder, (2) #3 centerless grinders, (4) Royal Master grinders. All are manned by experienced machinists, whose first concern is meeting all your specifications with the highest quality components on each and every job, delivered on time as promised. We also have multiple different style automatic feeders capable of automating various types of infeed and thru feed long run jobs to help keep cost down for the customer. Owner Vern McElroy has machining, manufacturing, prototyping in his DNA. What started out as an apprenticeship with Gates Rubber Company in 1971 cemented his decades-long commitment to providing quality machining services and support for companies in need of high quality parts manufacturing. In 1986, Vern joined the Rocky Mountain Inventors Congress, fulfilling his desire to combine his technical machining skills with his creative vision. With Vern’s guidance, Quality Components understands the process involved in bringing a drawing on a napkin to life. As an inventor, and patent holder, Vern provides a wealth of knowledge to his customers.

Quality Controlled Manufacturing Inc. was founded by William “Bob” Grande in October 1978 in his 1000 sq. ft. garage in Santee, California with one employee. Ideally located east of San Diego in San Diego County, in just eight short years, QCMI expanded its facility space to 7,000 sq. ft. and had 10 employees. In 1991 QCMI received our first of many awards with the Hamilton Sundstrand “Total Quality Performance Award.” With business and contracts continuing to increase, in 1992 Bob and a team of 35+ engineers, machinists and admin moved into a 27,000 sq. ft. facility in Lakeside, California.

Quality Grinding traces it roots back to 1946... ...when two men and a rotary grinding machine set out to offer precision grinding services to the burgeoning aerospace industry in Southern California. Those early years saw steady growth to keep up with increasing demand, and additional grinding services to take advantage of advancing manufacturing technology. In 1982, Cornel Feceu started working at Quality Grinding as a machine operator. He honed his skills as a grinder and became a supervisor in 1992. Sixteen years later, in 2008, Cornel bought the company and set out on a new path to success. Today, Quality Grinding offers Blanchard Grinding along with I.D., O.D., Centerless, and Surface Grinding, precision milling and turning, straightening, and more.
