SMC is an Idaho based full service precision sheet metal fabrication shop, precision machine shop, and engineered coating job shop serving customers in a wide range of industries. Our skilled craftsmen provide precision fabrication, and assembly of custom metal and plastic products. We have continually upgraded our Sheet metal facility and Machine Shop with state of the art technology and equipment including laser cutting, high-speed rotary punches, industrial dust collectors, automated powder coat line, computer numeric controlled (CNC) milling, multi-axis turning centers, and CAD/CAM software. Our entire operation is designed to ensure that we are flexible, available, dependable, and easy to work with. From the beginning, Steelwind Industries founders, Randy and Cheryl Bruch, had a clear vision. Their plan to create a full-service fabrication facility began in 1994 but the history goes back to 1983 with the original Bruch Corporation (founded by Randy and his father.) With the experience and motivation needed to expand their capabilities, they rented a building and went to work! In 1996, Randy and Cheryl purchased an 80,000-square-foot building in the heart of the Oak Creek, WI Industrial Park where they began to bring on the equipment needed to fulfill their vision. Within just four years, they had added a 20,000-square-foot addition. This space would soon become home to an expanded Fabrication department, several additional furnaces as well as a separate Paint department. In 2021, Steelwind also added a new FERMAT Boring Bar to broaden their extensive Service portfolio. The original vision from years ago is a Present-Day reality of full service, unsurpassed quality and expedited turnaround times. The business continues to grow through an ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation and dedicated customer service. Steelwind remains owned and operated by two generations of the Bruch family. Steelwind is proud to have provided services for many high-profile projects for construction/facades for stadiums, hotels, hospitals, casinos, and dealerships throughout the country. And of course closest to our hearts, Steelwind fabricated, blasted and painted the roof sections for Miller Park, a.k.a. Am Fam Field! We are also a proud partner of Komatsu and Caterpillar, providing weldments, heat treating, blasting, painting and shot peening to the mining industry. Throughout the last couple of years, Steelwind added aerospace to the list of industries served, and has happily provided hundreds of weldments for ground support for companies competing in the “space race”. .

Steen Machining began operating in Broomfield, CO in 1985. For over 30 years, we have provided a wide range of machining services, computer numerical control (CNC) turning and milling, both prototype and production, finishing and assembling to a host of customers in a variety of fields. We have supplied parts to the aircraft, automotive, and medical industries. Fabricated engraving machinery, pump and compressor parts, and serviced the high tech and aerospace industries. We have expertise in a broad range of materials; various steels, stainless steels, castings, alloys, and plastics. We are comfortable holding close tolerances and producing high quality finishes. We are committed to providing quality, affordable parts on time. We are fully capable of 3-D machining and although, we are strongly CNC oriented, we also have a solid base of manual machining knowledge.

CNC milling, CNC turning, conventional milling and turning, drilling, honing, single point thread cutting, grinding, welding, and production saw cutting, all in a timely and cost effective manner. We utilize old world craftsmanship and modern day technology to better serve both short and long production runs, offering a wide variety of materials, including most metals and plastics. We currently serve many areas including US government defense (DOD), pharmaceutical, medical, food processing, and agricultural equipment to name a few.

Stegman Tool is located right outside metropolitan Detroit, where our campus of buildings totaling 50,000 square feet is in the suburban city of Troy, Michigan. Our state of the art facilities are within minutes of Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) and is readily accessible to all major truck and parcel lines.

After decades spent working at a local electro-mechanical manufacturing company, Ed Steiner figured there had to be a better way to go about the manufacturing process. Realizing keeping everything in-house was not terribly cost-effective for anyone involved, he envisioned a company that would network with local manufacturers to streamline the process and make everything a whole lot cheaper.
