Back in 2000, a couple friends had a vision to create a workplace where it would be enjoyable to work at and yet challenging enough to keep it interesting. So, using the skills that they already had, they started a Steel fabrication shop within an existing company. It was not long before the business started picking up through perseverance, dedication and a commitment to offer an “Anytime” service to meet the needs of fast paced schedules and Mill breakdowns. Through smart business decisions and keeping fresh goals at the forefront, Western Fabrication has grown to be a leader in the Structural Steel Industry. We still keep Customer Service at the top of our list as well as a commitment to quality. People often ask us, “What do you guys build?”, and the answer is still the same; ANYTHING. In 1930 Western Saw Inc. and the 1st generation got its start as a repair shop, sharpening knives and scissors, under the guidance of Waldemar Christian Nielsen (Kevin & Kraig's Grandfather). Once World War II had come and gone, Western Saw established themselves as a manufacturer of Circular Saw Blades and Band Saws. In 1947 Western Saw manufactured their first Diamond Core for Felker. As years past Western Saw created a reputation for itself as a leader in Quality, Service, and Performance. In 1950 the name was changed to Western Saw Manufacturers Inc. and a new era began with Frank Baron, the 2nd generation. By 1951 Western Saw was known as the Dado King with six different Dado designs and a patented Multi Cut Oscillating Dado. Soon after; chrome plating, circular saws, and manufacturing Square Saws had joined the production line. In 1955 Western Saw started producing Carbide Tipped Saws for Hardware and Industrial business. Soon 1968 came and Western Saw was once again expanding to an 18,000 sq. ft. building and patenting the first Hard Face Diamond Core. In the late 70's and early 80's Western Saw started upgrading their machinery, becoming more and more automated. This was the start of the 3rd generation's leadership, with Kevin and Kraig Baron beginning a new era of innovation and technology. Their first laser purchase came in 1984 which started the new journey to becoming the leader in the Diamond Core industry. In 1991 another big move came when Western Saw moved to Oxnard into a 25,000 sq. ft. building and then acquired an additional 22,000 sq. ft in 1995. In 1999 Western Saw purchased land, designed and built a state of the art 70,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Today Western Saw manufactures an extensive line of products including cores, tubes, carbide blanks, and custom laser cutting for the Automotive and Aerospace Industries. Western Saw celebrates its 80 years of business/service with a great sense of pride and thanks to all our customers. The future looks bright with the development of new products, customers, and the 4th generation commitment to excellence.
